The Alice Sanctuary was asked to take Matilda when she was around 7 weeks old. Born a twin, her brother was kicking her off the udder, and she became very weak and malnourished. There was a threat that she would not survive. We were asked to give her a chance or else they feared she would not make it.
Matilda thrived once she came here, instantly eating pasture and grain. She is fiercely independent, but loves to play with her brother from another mother, Emmet. We think she pushed herself to get healthy so she could take care of Emmet.
