Cindy was Oreo’s best friend. Cindy passed away in June, 2015, with Oreo by her side.

Emmet came to The Alice Sanctuary when he was 6 weeks old. His leg was injured and he was underweight. After bottle feeding for a month, grains and pasture along with a holistic approach to heal his leg, Emmet began to heal and today he is a vibrant whether who runs and plays and loves life. Emmet’s name means strength and the love he gives to all our visitors definitely shows his strength in character.

Faith were rescued as a pair just before Thanksgiving weekend 2014. Lincoln never leaves Faith’s side. They are both fairly older turkeys, and we work on keeping their weight down so that they don’t have problems with mobility later on in life. We want them to have best and most healthy life possible.
Faith passed away March 2015.
Lincoln passed away in November 2015.

we. We were asked to take her from a sheep farm to spare her from being turned into hamburger. Even though she never produced a single lamb, she always protected the other lambs, and this was clear when she took on the role as surrogate guardian to Matilda and Emmet.
Auntie was not fond of people when she first arrived, always keeping her distance. Soon though she learned she can let a person love her. Auntie is my go to when I really need some guidance. Her quiet strength is my pillar as she places her forehead on mine and allows me to bury my face into her neck.
Auntie is overweight and receives a diet of low calorie, high fiber feed. Her joints and back are stressed by the weight so we are trying to help her lose some pounds and add some healthy exercise to her life while giving her back and joint massages with essential oils.
